Beauty & Individuality in The Era of the Clones
This woman is BEAUTIFUL, without a doubt. Dark hair, make-up accentuated eyes and lips...I must admit, I've been guilty of subscribing to this particular look on occasion and admiring the beauty of others who have as well. But I can't help but feel like this is becoming a deeper issue. As I scroll down my Instagram feed, I am bombarded with #WCWs (woman crush wednesday) who all look like this or strikingly similar. .. Wait... (Sh*t, is anybody else yawning?) We need to broaden society's "expectations of beauty" spectrum. Don't get me wrong, this is quite the classic look- simple, yet heavy and "exotic", it draws they eye right in with the dark hair and brightly highlighted face. This look is stunning and something many girls can pull off, owing their "beauty" to what I call the Kardashian-esque dramatic look, and please note, this is specifically about this common LOOK, not the people wearing...
